Kobe New Years Mix

The legend of Koby Bryant continues to grow.  He is making his case once again as the front-runner for the ‘09-’10 NBA MVP.  He has proven to be the player more than any other, that you would want to take a game’s final shot.

In a game in which his LA Lakers were down by 20 points against the Sacramento Kings, Kobe and his teammates rallied back to get within 2 points of the Kings with under 10 seconds remaining.  Everyone in the building knew who was getting the ball.  On a well designed play by coach Phil Jackson, Pau Gasol hit Kobe with a pass right in front of the Sacramento bench with only 2 seconds remaining, setting the stage for the NBA’s new “Mr Clutch”, Kobe Bryant, to hit his 3rd game winning shot this season so far.  Amazingly since Kobe sustained a finger injury more than 3 weeks ago, he has averaged more than 34 ppg to overtake the Nuggets’ Carmelo Anthony as the league’s leading scorer.  Kobe’s buzzer beater offset an excellent game by big man, Spencer Hawes of the Kings, who had 30 points, 11 rebs, and 5 assists.  Kobe led all scorers in the game with 39 points, while teammate Pau Gasol had another great game since his return with totals of 17 points, 16 rebs, and 4 assists, including the dish to Kobe for the game winner.

In the video watch the King’s coach, Paul Westphal’s reaction, or lack of one, as Kobe drains the game winner right in front of him.
